I had a great conversation with a gentleman in a lift the other day on the way to an early-morning networking event. We got talking about his business challenges, I gave him a couple of thoughts and we exchanged business cards and agreed to get together to continue our conversation. It literally was an elevator pitch!
At this time it’s too early for me to know if he’ll become a client; it’s down to me now to build on that first discussion, grow trust and show value. What I do know though, is that we wouldn’t have even had that conversation if I hadn’t been there!
VISIBILITY is one of the most fundamental, and most straightforward requirements of your success. It’s certainly not the only requirement, but, equally certainly, your customers can’t buy from you if you’re not there (wherever ‘there’ is). And it’s astounding just how low-profile and hard-to-find some businesses, and some ‘face-of-the-business’ individuals make themselves.
